Tourism Leaders’ Summit (TLS) and International Tourism Research Conference (ITRC)

Tourism Leaders’ Summit (TLS) and International Tourism Research Conference (ITRC) was organized by the premier state-run academic body, the Tourism Study Programs of the Department of Economics; University of Colombo.

The event was held on 04th and 05th of October 2018 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) for the 4th consecutive year in celebrations of United Nations World Tourism Day at national level.

Seven panel discussions paved way to interesting information sharing about a wide array of interesting topics related to travel and tourism. Not only information related to the academia were shared, but also many other important aspects were directed towards policy makers, which further created a platform to have an open dialogue about the future of tourism and what needs to be done to improve and secure its future in a sustainable manner.
